A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Courteney! A North London based green tea drinking, independent coffee shop exploring, Yorkshire pudding loving kinda gal. As well as being an occasional (sometimes very occasional) lifestyle blogger, I spend most of my time helping small businesses and freelancers grow their social media presence. This year, after three years of getting in my own way and enjoying that uni grad life, I finally took the plunge and started my own business, Just Bloom Social.Β If you know me, you’ll know this has been a long time coming.

If you’re wondering what got me to this point, I moved to London for uni in 2015 and just couldn’t bear to leave. I studied journalism but quickly found out that I wanted to do much more than article writing, despite spending my whole teens swearing to myself that I was going to run away to London to be a writer. However, I suppose in some capacity, I am a writer (caption writer, at least)! I’ve worked in social media since my second year in uni after interning for a healthy energy drink start-up in East London and realising how much I loved working with small businesses. In particular, I’ve always had an interest in the hospitality industry, which is probably why I specialise in helping restaurants and cafes with their social media. I’m a huge supporter of independent businesses, which is why a couple of years ago, I started a food blog on Instagram called North London Food. Although, I don’t think “food blog” is the correct category for it. I like to think of it as a resource to help local people discover new places to eat and drink in their area.

I think that’s everything you need to know, for now at least! If you need me, I’ll normally be tapping away at my laptop in a coffee shop somewhere – unless we’re in lockdown, of course.Β

Thank you for commenting! Are you planning on going to uni? If so I’d definitely recommend living in student halls or at least flat sharing with other students. It’s frustrating at times but you get to live with people that are in the same boat as you so it’s a really good experience to have πŸ™‚ x
