Can we just open this blog post by discussing the weather we had in April? For the first time this year I left the house bare legged and I didn’t go anywhere without my sunglasses over the Bank Holiday weekend.
I don’t know if it had anything to do with the weather, but April was a bit of a crazy month. Here are a few things I got up to…
A four day weekend
For the long Bank Holiday weekend, we decided to leave London and spend a few days in Cardiff. We drank a fair few cocktails, walked EVERYWHERE, had a picnic, took loads of pictures, went to the bay on a waterbus and even went to a board games cafe. I’m not going to share too much because I’m actually writing a full blog post about the places we visited and the things we got up to in Cardiff – which will include some restaurant recommendations too!
Bye bye coffee
I’m actually drinking coffee again now – phew. I did give it up for 40 days though! I found that I was drinking it waaaaaaay too much. And by too much I mean at least four cups at work alone. Since I’ve started drinking it again after my little detox I’ve tried to cut down the amount I drink at work and not drink it at home at all. I’m trying to stick to enjoying it when I’m in cafes. I’ve only been having one or two cups at work so the situation’s definitely improved. I’m not longer an addict anyway – yay!
My first ever blowdry
You know you’ve had a good day at work when you leave the office to get a blowdry. Just kidding, it was for a photoshoot. But I did actually get a blowdry. Here’s proof:
The only problem with this is that since this photoshoot I’ve become obsessed with how much longer my hair is when it’s straight.
A little photography workshop
Towards the end of the month I spent an afternoon learning how to use a camera and attempting to take in-focus photos. The workshop was run by Tia Talula and was SO helpful. I’m definitely not a professional but at least I know how to take bright, high res photos on a camera now!
Because what’s a photography workshop without candles and croissants? (P.s. I don’t have a camera to practice my new photography knowledge on but I did take this picture on my phone).
As always, thank you for reading!
Let me know what you got up to in April in the comments.
