It’s safe to say that March was full of one thing: food. Don’t get me wrong, I did do a lot of other fun things too. I worked a lot, went to the gym a lot, went on a few adventures into central London and started yoga.
I’ll try and keep the summary brief but here’s what I got up to in March…
I’ve wanted to try Junkyard Golf for AGES. I’m very competitive and love an opportunity to try and beat my boyfriend at something. Spoiler: I didn’t win. I did do better than I usually would though, despite the two cocktails that I had whilst we were waiting for our game. The cocktails were amazing by the way.
We went to the Brick Lane one – I’m pretty sure that they have a few other branches around the country too. The one that we went to had four courses: Bozo, Gary, Pablo and Bruce. We ended up going for Bruce as it was film themed. Imagine a mix between a junkyard and all your favourite movies.
They also had something which I’ve never seen before. Next to the courses there’s a photobooth that you can make GIFs. Once you’ve taken one you enter your phone number and it sends you a download link so you can save it on your phone or computer. We took four because in the first three my boyfriend looked like a demon.
My first Beigel Bake
The hype is worth it. In March we went for our first Beigel Bake. We both had a salt beef bagel followed by a carrot cake and apple strudel to share. The bagel might have been the softest thing I’ve ever eaten and the carrot cake might be the sweetest. Also – everything was SO cheap. Because it’s quite popular I expected everything to cost a lot more than it did.
This was just a little something that we walked past after indulging in our first Beigel Bake.
The best burger
Ahhhhh Siirgista Bros. In March we were invited to try out their Finchley restaurant. I’m aware that this is quite a claim but their chicken burger may be the best burger I’ve ever eaten.
Their whole menu is really affordable and there’s a good variety of sides and burgers to choose from. Of course we had to order their rosemary fries AND a side of sweet potato fries to share.
My first yoga class
I’ve wanted to try yoga for absolutely ages but kept putting it off. I actually made it one of my goals for this year to make sure that I booked in a class. I’m really glad that I went for my first once and since then I’ve been to a fair few more. My gym membership comes with classes included so it seems silly not to take advantage of it. So far I’ve just been doing the Hatha classes. I don’t know much about yoga at all but these classes focus a lot on breathing as well as stretching, sort of like meditation.
All the Italian food
Another North London Food adventure. At the beginning of the month we ventured to Noel Street to try the newly opened Guido’s. They already have several branches around in London but this is their newest. We filled our boots with Pesto Genovese and Ragu Bolognese and sank into a pasta coma.
As always, thank you for reading!
Here’s to another month full of lunch dates.
