2019 Bucket List

Another year, another long list of things I want to do. Despite having a really memorable, busy 2018, I still didn’t get to tick off a lot of things on my ‘to do’ list. So, having pondered on it for a few weeks over many cups of coffee and talks with my boyfriend, here’s a list of some of the things I’m determined to get round to doing in 2019. (Don’t worry, there’s only nine so far).

Go to Scotland

Let’s start off with a travel goal. I’m not sure what fascinates me about going to Scotland but I’ve just always wanted to go. There’s something about the castles and the lakes (and maybe the Loch Ness Monster) that just fascinates me. I’m definitely going to go this year. I’d love to go around winter time so I can go to the Christmas markets too.

Make some sort of pottery

Is it just me or do those pottery classes look so fun?

Do Tough Mudder

This is definitely one of my fitness goals for this year. If you haven’t heard of Tough Mudder before, it’s a 5km muddy obstacle course. I’ve been mulling the idea over for AGES and I think I’m going to sign up to the May one in west London.

Run the Great North Run

Like I mentioned in one of my recent posts, I’d really love to run a half marathon. Don’t get me wrong, it’d be great to be able to run a full marathon but I think we’d better start small(ish) to begin with. So, I’m going to start training for the Great North Run.

Read a book a month

Seeing as I read approximately half a book last year, this needs to happen. I don’t know why I read so little in 2018 because I’m actually a veracious reader. I suppose I can only blame my dissertation and just being TIRED. Well no more. It’s 2019, I’ve got my reading glasses on and I’m ready to work through my long list of “books I’ve bought but haven’t gotten around to reading yet”.

Go camping

Proper camping with a tent and a little fire and everything . Maybe for a weekend. I’m definitely going to have to wait until summer to get this one ticket off my list though. I also like the idea of glamping in one of those cosy pods

Try yoga

I’ve done yoga at home by myself but I’m curious to see what it would be like to go to an actual yoga class and do yoga with other human beings in the room. A lot of people seem to go to classes so they must be good, right?

I’ve also just found out that my gym membership includes free classes so it’d be silly not to give it a try really.

Make a short ebook

This one sounds like a huge deal but it’s really not. For a while I’ve been considering making short ebooks about social media and maybe blogging too. To an extent, I find ebooks much more helpful than seminars and podcasts because 1) you don’t have to take your own notes and 2) you can always refer back to an ebook if you’re in need of some tips or motivation. They’d be fairly short and simplistic but as helpful as possible – perfect for any bloggers or small businesses that don’t have the time or the budget to invest in proper social media marketing yet too.

Have a spa day… or three

I’ve only ever actually been to a spa once. I don’t know why but I’ve got a sudden urge to go to spas, get facials and get massages. Maybe I’m getting old? Maybe it’s because I spend most of my day at a desk hunched over a laptop and my back hurts? Am I getting wrinkles? Who knows. I do already have two spa days booked in over the next few months though.

As always, thank you for reading!

  1. I started getting facials on a more regular basis last year and I think I’m going to keep it on my bucket list for this year. It’s a nice way to pamper yourself. I’m also hoping to read more and take a trip to somewhere fun.

  2. Yoga and a short ebook (or something similar) are on my bucket list too! Good luck to you and may you achieve everything on your list! 🙂
