What’s next?

It’s been a while since we’ve had an update around here so let’s get started. Everything is changing – and hopefully for the better.

The degree

First and foremost, uni is finished! Forever!

After three long years of assignments and lectures, it’s all come to an end. It’s quite a bittersweet feeling actually. I’m sad that I don’t get to see my friends every day and I’m sort of missing the familiarity and simplicity of everything. For the past three years I’ve known what I need to do and now that’s all changed.

That being said, I’m glad that it’s come to an end. Over the last few months I’ve been itching to begin ‘life after uni’. If you didn’t know, I did my degree in journalism at a university in London. Overall, I’m really happy with how I did but you couldn’t pay me to go through it all again. If by this point you were wondering whether or not I’m going to do a Masters, I think you’ve got your answer.

The housing situation

I moved! Whilst I was at uni I lived in the same place for the entire three years. I’m still in London and I’ve only actually moved about 10 minutes down the road. It’s such a relief to no longer live in student accommodation. We even have a garden.

I live in a house full of boys so I wasn’t sure how well I’d cope but it turns out they’re actually a lot tidier than the girls I used to share a floor with in halls.

The job

In terms of work, I’m still a social media manager and I’m really happy. I left Brain Fud last September because working two jobs wasn’t working for and I wanted to focus more on uni and have more free time. Although I’d be lying if I said a little part of me didn’t miss Brain Fud. I’m not quite sure where I’ll be in a few months let alone this time next year so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I feel like recently I’ve been so busy with work that’s it’s really difficult to focus on anything else. I’d love to start writing on my own blog regularly and taking on more work though.

The future

So to answer the question: I don’t really know what’s next. I want to travel and visit my friends. I want to enjoy living in a normal house again. I want to be more creative and take on more work. I want to do so many things that I don’t actually know what I want to do. All I do know is that I really can’t wait to do them all.

As always, thank you for reading!
