Hello again,
Here are the new year’s resolutions that I’m going to be attempting to stick to this year.
No more fizzy drinks
I don’t drink fizzy drinks at home because I never buy them and would always pick iced tea or water over a Coke if I had the choice. However, when we’re in restaurants and Cem orders a Coke I always end up getting one myself. Bad life choices. I drink a lot of water anyway but hopefully buy cutting out fizzy drinks I’ll drink even more.
Start assignments early
This is going to be the hardest one. I really want to start all of my uni assignments as soon as possible, preferably on the day they’re set, while I’m motivated and the information is fresh in my mind.
Read more books
Throughout 2016 I didn’t read as much as I usually do because I have been a lot busier than I usually am. However, in 2017 I want to plough through my ever-growing reading list before it becomes unmanageable. I’ve been reading Dark Places on and off for months now so I really want to finish it. I used to read a new book every few days so I’m not sure how I managed to get so behind…
As always, thank you for reading.
I hope you had a great new year! Let me know what your resolutions are…

Bye for now,
Courteney x
I want to read more books too this year. I read dark places, then saw the movie, it was so dark but I’m glad I read the book first.
I didn’t even know there was a movie! This has motivated me to finish the book 😂
I need to join you with the no fizzy drinks. I honestly dont have that many – maybe about 2 cans of diet coke a week. But… still better to not have any.
I’m the same! It’s only a couple a week but I’d still prefer to cut them out completely 🙂
I don’t drink fizzy drinks. But I don’t drink water either. I am always with the coffee in my hands.. So I really need to join you on that one. I hope you will get really good marks in Uni!
It’s tea for me! I should really cut that down too haha. Thank you 🙂
I’m with you on the water….I need to up my water intake and lower my cup of tea intake! Haha! Great post x
I definitely need to lower my tea intake! I drink way too much haha x
I totally need to drink more water…sweet tea and coffee with cream and sugar are my bff’s!
I need to drink more water and cut down on the tea for sure! I’m pretty good with coffee but tea is my weakness
cutting out fizzy drinks made a huge difference for me. Now whenever I have a fuzzy drink, I hate it! Good luck on your goals and I hope you get to read some amazing books this year!
I barely have them so when I do it makes me feel so sick! Definitely glad to see the back of them
These are great resolutions – I love making them and looking at my life and figure out things that I go do to be a better person.
Thank you! I love making résultions 🙂
I wish I would drink as much water as you. I don’t actually like soda but I love things like ice tea, lemonade, coffee, redbull etc. I need to work on drinking more than the usual 32oz of water a day.
I’m a sucker for iced tea! I drank way too much on holiday so I’m trying to cut that down too 🙂
All really great goals! I need to be better about drinking more water too but I can’t give up the fizz so I stick to carbonated when I get the craving!
I always crave an ice cold coke or lemonade when I’m in a restaurant so it’s going to be so hard haha 🙂
I am working to drink no more fizzy drinks this year also. They are my weakness, especially a Coke! I am trying to eat less sugar too.
I really want to plan better. I am awful at planning and starting things in advance! It’s like I enjoy the pressure of last minute LOL!
I need to get a good planner so I can plan better this year too 🙂 haha
Joining you -and all the comments below- at no more fizzy drinks and starting assignments early xx
We can do it! Xx
Starting assignments early is a great resolution. I get stuck doing work super late because I never want to start until like 10 PM haha!
I’m the same! I’m such a bad procrastinator haha
I stopped drinking fizzy drinks when a medication caused me to not be able to taste carbonation anymore (strange, but apparently it’s a common side effect!). I was initially SO gutted, but it turned out to be the best thing! Now I drink so much water and tea! Good luck!
Hey Courteney! 😀
I would like to announce that I nominated you for a award! 😀
Congratulations!
Here is the post with your name in it 🙂

Kind regards,
Doni
Thank you! I’ll have a proper look later 🙂
I am notoriously horrible at staying hydrated so drinking more water is at the top of my list as well!
I either drink loads or forget to drink it at all – there’s no in-between haha
I have done the complete opposite this year! I usually drink a lot of water but so far I have been indulging in the fizzy drinks, I need to go back to the way I was before!
I used to hate fizzy drinks but they snuck into my life haha
My biggest resolution is just get started on all the things I put off last year. I can’t do them perfect but I can do them!
I definitely need to catch up with things from last year still haha
I used to read a lot but in 2016 I didn’t read as much as I used to. Such a shame, I want to read more this year x
I used to read a lot more but over the past year I’ve barely read anything – I’m definitely going to read more this year x
YES to giving up the fizzy drinks! I gave them up starting in 2014 and it’s been wonderful for my body and my health. You truly do see a major difference.
I used to feel so good when I didn’t drink them! When I do drink them my stomach feels so heavy and bloated
I’ve never been one much for fizzy drinks but I do probably eat too many sweets, so I’d love to cut back on that and load up on more greens! Good luck with 2017!
Thankfully I’m not much of a sweet person, I definitely need to cut down on the chocolate though haha 🙂
I definitely want to start reading more books. As you get older things you disliked doing as a child is something you want to do as an adult.
Exactly! I can’t wait to read more – I’ve got the biggest reading list haha
Awesome!! Staying healthy and reading more are on my list too!!
Hopefully we’ll stick to them haha 🙂
I have never heard of this book before, but it sounds intriguing! It is my goal to start reading more, too.
I can’t wait to finish it! Gillian Flynn is a great author
Great goals to try & achieve it’s always nice to have something to work for. I could never give up fizzy drinks I drink pepsi like it’s water
Thank you! I find as soon as I have one Coke I want more and more haha
I love seeing other people’s resolutions. I just want to live more positively, that’s it. I think it allows us to do more, especially when it comes to treating people with respect. I love your goals, we always have time to read books if we allow ourselves to.
Same with me! I love reading about other people’s goals and resolutions 🙂
These are great resolutions. I don’t think I could give up fizzy drinks. That would be really hard for me.
I didn’t think I’d be able to but I’m doing well so far – I doubt I’ll be saying that in a couple of months haha
I cut out fizzy drinks for the most part a long time ago and I felt so much better. I also love your goal to read more.
Thank you! I already feel better and we’re not even half way through January haha 🙂
Oh man I would love to be healthier this year. That’s one of my biggest goals. I’d love to take out all of the sugary drinks and replace them with more water.
It’s one of my biggest goals too! Let’s hope we stick to it 🙂
Wow. Awesome resolutions to start the year! I’m on no fizz for some time now. Can’t agree more with you on the benefits!
These are pretty straightforward and attainable. Maybe a good alternative to fizzy drinks would be fizzy water to keep it interesting
Thank you! I completely forgot about fizzy water – I love the fruity ones 🙂
I would also have a hard time cutting out the fizzy drinks if others were ordering them. Good luck to you in all of your goals!
I know what you mean! It makes me so tempted when other people order them
“Read more books” I think that is always a worthwhile goal! I am going to try and do more reading this year. I already read a lot, but at the end of the year last year it definitely fell off quite a bit.
It’s a resolution I really hope I stick to! I need to prioritise reading this year
Great list!!! Read more books is a goal of mine too!!! I love to read, I just need to make it a priority now!
So do I! Really need to make more time for reading this year
Great ideas!
Thanks! 🙂
