I’ve always been reluctant to try new sheet masks. I find that they often feel like they’re smothering my face and clogging my pores as instead of actually hydrating my skin. For context, my skin is naturally quite dry and I’ve struggled a lot with eczema since I was younger too, which is why I’m quite particular about the skincare products I use.
However, I have been testing out a new face mask recently.
These Procoal charcoal sheet masks don’t contain any Parabens, Silicones, SLS (a chemical commonly used in skincare products to clear skin), Mineral oil and Paraffin. I’m not a skincare expert but I know enough to assume that we’re off to a good start.

Each Procoal mask contains 25g of serum – which is like using an entire bottle of serum on your face at once. I’m going to be honest, after reading this I initially expected the masks to be quite heavy like most others that I’ve used. However, after around 15 minutes when you’re ready to take the mask off, you can literally rub the excess serum into your skin. There’s something quite nice about not having to wash your face after you’ve used the mask. When I used mine, I rubbed in the serum and didn’t use any other products on my skin on those nights. Ordinarily I’d use a night serum but I skipped it in place of the mask. If prefer your skincare routine to be as minimal as possible then these are definitely worth a try.
The day after using one of the masks, my skin felt softer and more hydrated. This is key for me when choosing new skincare products to use because my skin is naturally so dry.

I was quite scared that after using a sheet mask that I’ve get spots or dry patches, which often happens when I use masks. After using all three of these sheet masks I can happily report that my skin is doing just fine.
As always, thank you for reading!
