Welcome to my first post of 2016!
First thing’s first, (I’m the realest – ha) I hope you’re all having a lovely new year and don’t feel too hungover from last night.
Rather than writing another blog post about my New Year’s resolutions, this year I want to share with you the things that I hope to do and achieve. It’s a sort of ‘Bucket List’ for 2016, if you like. I won’t go into a lot ofย detailย about each one or explain why I want to do each one because we’ll be here all day: it’s quite a long list…
To go ice skatingย
I’ve only ever been once and I broke my wrist. There’s always room for improvement…
To reach 1000 WordPress followers on my blogย
This isn’t one that I’m overly concerned about but it’s nice to have a number to aim for.
To watch a live ice hockey game
Ice hockey looks so fun. I love hockey and I love WATCHING ice skating so it seems like the perfect combination.
To watch a film in an outdoor cinemaย
I’ve always wanted to do this. I’ve heard about a lot of rooftop outdoor cinemas in London that sound really appealing. I’d also love to go to The Scoop to watch a film.
To drink more water
I really don’t drink enough water. All I drink is fresh juice and tea. Not good.
To donate bloodย
This will be a difficult one. I’m petrified of blood and needles. Since they’re two of my biggest fears it’ll be interesting to see how it goes. Maybe I’ll get one of my friends to take me. I’ve always wanted to give blood.
To watch a musical or a playย
I love musicals and plays and have always wanted to see a West End show. I think finding someone who will enjoy it to go with me will be more difficult than finding myself the time to go.
To read more
I didn’t read enough last year. I’ve always been a veracious reader but I don’t think I made enough time for it in 2015. I have so many books that I’ve been waiting to read but just haven’t got round to it. I should aim to read one per week or something.
To meet one of my favourite authorsย
Since living in London I’ve noticed that some of my favourite authors have been doing small meet and greets or signings. Let’s face it, I probably won’t be meeting Stephen King anytime soon. However, I’d love to meet Lindsey Kelk and Martina Cole.
To listen to people at Speaker’s Corner
This is something I was advised to do when I started university and I still haven’t done it. If you didn’t know, people go to Speaker’s Cornerย to listen to what people have to say about a topic or to join in with debates.
To see a comedian live
If I got to see Lee Evans or Kevin Hart I would put 2016 down as a success. Am I aiming to high? Maybe I’ll start with a small stand-up comedy venue and I’ll work my way up to the 02 Arena…
To not give a shit (pardon my language)
This one is self-explanatory but it’s also one of the most important. I definitely want to become more confident in myself and in the content I’m publishing on my blog. Recently I’ve been so inspired to think of unique and creative ideas for this blog. I think this has given me a massive confidence boost and has helped me care a lot less about what people will think l my content. I hope 2016 will be even better.
Thank you for reading!ย
Writing a list of things that are both inspirational and attainable is actually quite difficult. I want to challenge myself but I don’t want to set myself unrealistic targets.
If you managed to make it this far please send me any suggestions that you have that I could add to my list, or even tell me what you’re hoping to achieve in 2016.
