9 Things I Love About Autumn

Hello again,

Since autumn is my favourite season, I thought I’d share with you the things that I enjoy most about it. There’s quite a few things so I’ll just get on with it…

Halloween

I love seeing children knocking on doors and collecting sweets; their faces light up when people compliment their costumes or someones gives them a handful of lollies. Also, I love dressing up and applying scary makeup using fake blood. This year I’m going to a ‘Zombie Takeover’ themed party. All outfit ideas and suggestions are welcome…

Bonfire Night

Bonfire Night is definitely one of my favourite holidays out of the whole year. Sparklers, fireworks and bonfires are so pretty to look at. It’s also quite nice to be surrounded by the warmth of a fire, especially when the air is becoming so bitter. However, I’m not a massive fan of candy apples; they hurt my teeth.

The Colours

I understand that this is quite a vague point to make. Deep berry colours are my favourite to wear, especially when we’re talking about lipstick and nail varnish. Also, the colours of the leaves are so much prettier in autumn. Golds, browns, reds and yellows looks much more interested than dull greens. Also, tartan scarves are my favourite autumn accessories which definitely matches the autumnal colour scheme.

Darker Evenings

Hooray! It is now acceptable to go to sleep much much earlier because it will actually be dark! I’ve barely been sleeping recently so this is something that I look forward to. Today I swear it started getting dark at 3:30pm – what’s not to love?

My Birthday!

Maybe this is why I love autumn so much; I am an autumn baby, after all. My birthday is November 16th if anyone was thinking of buying me a present. While we’re talking about important dates, The Hunger Games films are released in mid-November each year, yet another thing to look forward too. Who’s excited for Mockingjay Pt 2?!

Crunchy Leaves

Does anyone else find extreme satisfaction in walking over leaves and hearing them crunch beneath your shoes? Just me? Ok.

Wellies and Ankle Boots

My favourite footwear. There is no shoe more comfortable than boots and wellies, they’re so much easier to walk in than thin flats. Also, with all the rain that the UK usually have, parading around in flats is extremely stupid.

Chunky Knitwear

The time of scarves, jumpers, mittens and woolly hats is upon us! I’m all about comfy clothing and I love layering – this season is perfect for me. I’ve been collecting so many jumpers for the cold months and I can’t wait until it’s actually cold enough to wear them all. I also can’t wait for the monumental occasion that will be wearing my bobble hat for the first time this autumn.

The Cold

Yes, I am one of those irritating people that actually prefers the colder months to summer. I have being hot and I hate the way the sun burns my eyes. I’d much rather have to wrap up warm when I need to over being so hot I can’t bear to do anything.
